SUBSEA PUMPS, a type of SUBSEA EQUIPMENT.
Subsea Pumps are a type of Subsea Equipment. These systems form part of subsea processing and compression solutions and serve several purposes: they amplify pressure to support long?distance facilities; they separate water from the produced fluid at the well and reinject it underground, avoiding the need to transport excess water to the surface; and they separate the produced fluid into its various phases to ease the load on flowlines, risers and topside facilities. As exploration moves into deeper water, the technology becomes more sophisticated and must achieve extremely high reliability, resulting in a market dominated by a handful of major providers. When a project is described as subsea seawater injection, it specifically refers to injecting seawater through a pump located subsea and excludes typical water injection performed from a topside platform.
