SUBSEA MECHANICAL CONNECTORS, a type of SUBSEA EQUIPMENT.
Subsea Mechanical Connectors are a type of Subsea Equipment. These connectors form part of the network of fluid transfer lines, flowlines, risers and jumpers that underpin offshore production; fluid transfer lines are large?diameter pipelines linking two structures and often move dynamically, flowlines are static pipelines on the seabed, risers hang in the water column linking subsea infrastructure to surface facilities, and jumpers are short sections connecting fixed structures either above or below the water, which may be vertical or horizontal and can be rigid jumpers or tie?in spools. All of these components face extreme temperatures, pressures, physical stresses and corrosive media yet must maintain secure connections and optimal product flow. Industry development is currently concentrating on risers that can withstand higher temperatures and pressures, and collet connectors are commonly used across both integral and non?integral connection systems.
